Did you know that on June 24th, 1717, four Lodges met at the Goose and Gridiron Ale-House in London and formed the Premier Grand Lodge of England?
Did you know that, in 1717, Masonic Lodges conferred only two degrees: the Entered Apprentice and the Fellowcraft?
But by 1732 there were well over one hundred constituent Lodges in the Premier Grand Lodge and a third degree, the Master Mason degree, had been introduced.
At this meeting, there will be a presentation that will examine this rapid transformation of the Grand Lodge over the short period of just fifteen years into an institution that we would recognize today.
The Grand Lodge, A.F. & A.M., of the State of Oklahoma is also planning a celebration on this date beginning at 4:00 p.m. and being held at the India Shrine Center, which is located at 3601 N.W. 36th Street in Oklahoma City.
